Pastor Carver was born in Bellefonte, Pa. He was the youngest of
three children. He trusted in Jesus Christ as his Savior at the age of
16, and felt God’s call to full time pastoral ministry at 17. After
graduation from Bald Eagle Area High School, he followed God’s
direction to attend Philadelphia College of Bible to prepare for
ministry. While there he met Dolores Newton, who would later
become his wife. Pastor Carver and Dolores were married,
transferred schools to Washington Bible College, and both
graduated with a B.A. Degree. Pastor Carver then attended Capital
Bible Seminary and graduated with a Master of Theology degree. He
was ordained by his local Church, Grace Memorial, in Colmar Manor,
Maryland. Pastor Carver and Dolores have served two churches
over 31 years of pastoral ministry, nine at Chestnut Grove Bible
Church and over 22 years at Hagerstown Bible Church. Pastor
Carver and Dolores have 7 children and 15 grandchildren.

director and Sunday school teacher, he was called to full time ministry
at the age of 17 while working at a church run camp, Pamadeva.
Following his graduation from Waynesboro Senior High School, he
attended Baptist Bible College in Clarks Summit, PA. He graduated
from BBC in 1992, with a Bachelor in Sacred Music and Bible. He
returned home and began teaching piano at Cumberland Valley
School of Music and directing New Dimension, a young adult ministry
of Camp Joy-el. It was during that time that he met his wife, Carla.
They were married in 1996 and have 4 children.

He attended Heritage Academy from K- 12 and spent his
undergraduate years attending Cedarville College (now Cedarville
University). Before coming to HBC he worked with the youth group at
Evangel Baptist Church in a variety of roles. He took full leadership
there in January of 2003 and led it until he left to
join us in June of 2005. While there, he began his Masters in
Christian
Counseling at Philadelphia Biblical University and completed his
degree in
May of 2005. He came to HBC in a part time role and was brought
on in a
fulltime capacity in September 2005. On August 30, 2008 he
married the love of his life, Ilze Sterna. He and Ilze live in an
apartment near the church and serve together in our youth ministry.
