Our Church Hagerstown Bible Church is a nondenominational, Bible believing assembly of Christians. We gather together to worship God by honoring His Son, Jesus Christ. We believe that the Bible tells us how to get to heaven, and how to live here until we go there. Our Desire Our desire is to help individuals to know God in a personal way, to grow in their relationship with Him, and to fulfill His good plan for their lives. We offer worship services, Bible study classes for all ages, social activities and opportunities for service to others as a means of carrying out this desire. Our Invitation We invite you to attend our services and to become part of our church family. Finding a church home can make the difference in success or failure of your life, your marriage, or your family. But even more important than this is your relationship to God and where you are going to spend eternity? The Bible tells us that God loves us, and that He has a good plan for our lives, which includes spending eternity in heaven with Him (John 3:16). The Bible also tells us the bad news that we have broken God’s holy standards. It says, “all have sinned and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). It also says that “the wages of sin is death” (Romans 6:23). This means that if we die in our sinful condition we will be eternally separated from God in a very bad place called hell. None of us are good enough to earn heaven (Ephesians 2:8-9). The Bible also tells us the good news that God’s Son, Jesus Christ, came to earth as a man. He lived a perfect life and died in our place to pay for our sin (1 Peter 3:18). Jesus’ resurrection proves that He is God, and that He has made the complete payment for our sins. Jesus is the only way any of us can get to God (John 14:6). God offers us eternal life as a free gift (Romans 6:23). But we must personally receive it. We do this by trusting in Jesus Christ as the One who has paid for our sins. Jesus receives all who come to Him. He doesn’t reject us or cast us out of God’s family (John 6:37). Why not pray and trust in Jesus as your Savior? Here is a sample prayer: “Dear God, I know that I have done things that are wrong. I believe that Jesus died and rose again to pay for my sins. I ask You to forgive me and take me to heaven. In Jesus Name, Amen.” |
